Our Story

Welcome

Since December 15, 2017, Maddie Cakes Bakery has been a staple in the Bermuda Run community.

As a young girl growing up in Bermuda Run, NC, Maddie Myers always felt like Davie County was home. She attended Shady Grove Elementary, Ellis Middle and Davie County Early College. While Maddie loved baking and entertaining from a very young age, it was in Early College that she truly found her passion for baking by way of a service product to benefit a classmate with cancer. What started as a fun way to bake cupcakes and give back eventually made its way to what is now Maddie Cakes Bakery!

After graduating from high school, Maddie took some time off to work and decide if culinary school was the right path to take. After working at a few bakeries, Maddie knew she  wanted her own bakery and made the decision to pursue a Bachelor of Entrepreneurship at Western Carolina University and make her dream a reality.

After graduating from Western Carolina, the decision to open Maddie Cakes in Bermuda Run was an easy one. Bermuda Run is Maddie’s home and the current location is a perfect fit! Maddie’s vision for the bakery can be seen as you walk through the door. A large seating area where customers can watch the bakers, decorators and staff create an inviting atmosphere and friendly staff welcome clients as they walk in the door. There’s room to meet with friends, to relax and enjoy a treat or to have some quiet time with a good book and a cup of coffee.

With much help from her parents, friends and family, and with lots of patience, Maddie Cakes Bakery officially opened its doors on December 15, 2017. The support received and from the extended community has been open. Maddie Cakes Bakery looks forward to serving for years to come!

A note from Maddie

Hey, I’m Maddie! Thanks for stopping by. I’m honored to be the owner of Maddie Cakes Bakery in Bermuda Run. Outside of work you can find me playing with my dog, Wheezie, or just hanging out with my friends. I enjoy time traveling to new places, and visiting friends who have moved out of town. I love my church family and the amazing community we are creating and am so thankful for wonderful friends and family that love and support me. Thank you for supporting a small business and helping make my dreams come true!
